Jerzy Piątek is a documentary photographer from Wroclaw (Poland). He did German Studies at the University of Wroclaw and the Johann Gutenberg University in Mainz (Master’s degree in Wroclaw in 1996). He attended classes at the School of Artistic Photography – the International Forum of Photography “Kwadrat” and at the Wroclaw School of Photography AFA. He is currently a student of the Institute of Creative Photography in Opava in the Czech Republic (bachelor's degree in 2018, master's degree studies - ongoing).
In 2014, his photographs were included in the first edition of the photo book “Debuts”, presenting works of 36 new, contemporary Polish photographers. His photographs have been published in magazines, among others, in “Le Monde Diplomatique” and “Pismo Literacko-Artystyczne Rita Baum”. At the turn of 2014 and 2015, an exhibition of his works entitled “New York – just a few people” was shown at the Wrocław Contemporary Museum. His photographs have been shown at group exhibitions, among others, within the framework of the “Debuts” project or exhibitions of students of the Institute of Creative Photography in the Czech Republic, Germany, Great Braitain and Poland.
